Karen Xu

I’m an engineer, researcher and MD-PhD student in the Department of Bioengineering at the University of Pennsylvania. My expertise is in cell-material interactions, engineering polymer networks as cell substrates and programming extracellular environments for therapeutic and disease modeling applications. In the future, I hope to clinically specialize in internal medicine and run an engineering lab geared towards addressing medicine’s most pressing issues.
